GCSE Results 2017 - updated.
24th August 2017
Congratulations to all of the Year 11 students at St. Martin’s School, their parents and teachers who should all be most proud today of the successes that have been achieved in 2017 together.
In 2017 students have had to undertake new, far tougher GCSE qualifications than any previous year group who have sat examinations at St Martin’s School. We are pleased therefore to present another set of outstanding GCSE results, which see more students than ever before achieving exceptional performance.
It is with pride that we commend the hard work that students, teachers and support staff at the school have put into attaining these impressive results.
Without exceptional teaching and the outstanding partnership work between students, teachers, support staff and their parents none of this would have been possible.
This year has seen many changes to the GCSE examinations here in Wales which make any year on year comparison impossible and we won’t be in a position to comment on overall performance therefore until more complete data is available.
We congratulate all students for achieving their personal best and the following students for a remarkable set of GCSE results.

No student who studied at St. Martin’s school left without a qualification, an impressive 64.6% of students attained 5 or more GCSE grades at C or above including English and Mathematics and 75.2% of students attained 5 GCSE grades at C or above.
We look forward to welcoming the majority of students into the Sixth Form on the 4th of September and for those studying at other establishments, undertaking apprenticeships or moving into the world of work we wish all the very best for the future.
