  • Thank you for all of your support this week

    Published 04/09/20

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for all of your support this week during our phased start back to school and for those who have raised items for our consideration directly with me.

The emails I have received have been very helpful in enabling us to gain parental perspectives upon our plans which are being constantly reviewed and evolving to enable us to provide the best provision for our staff and learners.

We are evaluating how our operations have worked in practice and will be revising some aspects and updating parents accordingly now that we have been able to see how the school functions with learners and staff on site, circulation points around the school and lessons underway.

I appreciate some of the concerns that some have and I do believe there are some adjustments that we can make to maintain levels of safety whilst giving learners and staff a more comfortable day.

I will be in touch with all parents with an update on any adjustments we decide to make on Tuesday ready for learners to be back in school on Wednesday after our preparation days.

I hope that you are all well and have not been affected by the spike in cases within Caerphilly.

    Stay safe

  • Sixth Form Transition Day

    Published 24/08/20

We would like to invite all internal and external candidates to a 6th form transition day on Tuesday 1st September.

This will just be an opportunity to prepare you for the year ahead and share some important information with you. This will start at 9am and take place in the Old Hall. We are expecting to finish at approximately 1:30 with a lunch break etc included however it may run a little over or finish a little earlier depending on how much time students need. You will need to bring a pen and a packed lunch / snacks and water as we won't be able to provide any food on the school site in line with government guidelines. We are also hoping to issue you with your timetable this day too. It will also be a chance for you to discuss any amendments you may want to make to your subject choices etc.

We very much look forward to seeing you there. Thank you Miss McCallion and Miss Hopkins

  • Message for Year 12 and 13

    Published 18/08/20

    Good morning,

Following the education minister's decision to revert back to centre assessed grades we will reissue via email learners' results once the examination board (WJEC) send us a new results file.

We have not been given details of when this will arrive but rest assured our  examinations officer is constantly checking for this and will process it as soon as it comes in.

Finally, thank you to all parents and students who supported the demonstrations, petitions and wrote letters to the minister and politicians which will have helped greatly to reverse the ministers decision.

    Mr Jarvis

    Published 13/08/20

Good morning to learners and parents,

I am pleased to inform you that examination results should now be in your student gmail in box.
As announced by the education minister your A level results should be no lower than AS results if you are in year 13.

If you believe this is the case they will be automatically updated by the WJEC.

Phone calls will be made today by the Heads of Sixth Form to all year 13 students where any concerns regarding university places, exam results or future destinations can be discussed.
I wish all of our learners the very best for the future.
