The Family Wellbeing Team would like to invite you to a drop in session to be held at the school between 10am and 11.30am. The first session will take place on Tuesday 20th March 2018 and the following sessions will be posted on our website.
The drop in will give you as parents and guardians a chance to discuss non academic issues or questions with our skilled team and gain any information or support that you may require for your children or family. You may like to discuss the following or just drop in for a catch up to discuss your child’s progress in terms of wellbeing:
EFSM application and eligibility
Support services for your child or family
Attendance
Mental and physical health concerns
Emotional issues
Issues in the community
Advice about health and wellbeing issues that your child may be having
Updates about your child’s wellbeing
School safeguarding procedures and systems
It may even be an opportunity for you to pop in and have a cup of coffee and a chat about your child in order to make links to support you at home.

All year 7-9 pupils will be participating in the Sport Relief Mile next week during their PE lessons.
They will need their normal PE kit and consent letter from parents to leave site.
We will be walking around Caerphilly Castle and the walk will be no longer than 50 minutes.
Pupils can participate in the STEP UP challenge by downloading the free Sport Relief app, and counting their steps Monday- Friday on the week beginning 19th March.
Prizes will be available for the highest steps over 5 days.
Measles is currently circulating in South East Wales. Please see the attached letter and information poster for the signs and symptoms and what to do if you suspect your child has measles.

At the end of February 2018 the school received advice, via the Local Authority, that the Welsh Government has announced the School Uniform grant will cease for Year 7 students at the end of the financial year 2017/2018. Please see the attached letter regarding this change.
CTG- Caerphilly Table-Top & Gamers Society - First opening day 10th March 2018 @ Caerphilly Library, The Twyn, CF83 1JL.
Teach your child there is more to games than consoles and mobile devices! Learn strategy and socialize with other fellow gamers for real. CTG is a new free monthly gaming society that meets in the Caerphilly Library once a month 12-4pm. Free to all pupils and their families in the Caerphilly Borough. Be it table top board games, role-play games (RPG) and war gaming board games and also Pokemon, Magic and Yi-Gi-Oh card games – this is the place to be.
